I am looking to replicate a file server for automatic failover.
Is DFS the correct solution?
I have two 2008 std servers which I am planning to use.
But the Domain is 2000, is it possible to use DFS on a 2008 server
within a 2000 domain?

Hello
DFS should be your correct solution if you are using domain based namespace.
But I am not sure about w2k dfs and w2k8 dfsr. W2K uses DFS and W2K8 uses
DFSR. Hopefully someone who have tested this might respond.

You can create a DFS namespace invoving both Windows Server 2008 and Windows
2000 Server as either stand-alone or domain-based in Windows 2000 Server
mode. For more info regarding both, refer to
