Hi

I think this is quite a common problem...

Anyway i have deleted the dfs replication links within the DFS mmc but when
i try to delete the folders from my directory i get the error 'cannot remove
folder xxxx: cannot find the specified file' and i also get 'Cannot delete
file:'

Can someone help delete these unused folders please

Thanks

Simon

Hello Simon,
Make sure disable replication from both sides , then remove the
targets\links from dfs, unshare the folders, then delete
Hope this helps,

Thanks for your prompt reply

Dfs has been disable at both sides. I have checked the targets/links in dfs
and unshared the folder and still no joy!

Hello,
Do you have the proper permissions on the folder? Check the permissions and
and make sure you have full control. You can also make sure there are no
replicas of the folders still in dfs. to do this export dfs and search for
the removed targets\links

dfsutil /root:\\<domain name>\<dfs root name> /export:<domain name>.XML.DFS
