We just got started with DFS Replication as part of our backup strategy,
and we've got several replication groups working fine. However, we have
one that has a large number of files and folders that we have had a lot
of difficulty with. It has a main folder, and then inside that is a sub
folder for each year, which then has sub folders for each day. We have
deleted and recreated the group several times now, to try to get it to
work properly. Files are replicated in the top level folder only.
I found today that there is a known issue with sub folders that were
part of groups that have been deleted, which seems to explain why only
files in the top folder are being replicated. I applied the hotfix
(KB948833) on both the source and destination servers (both running
Windows Server Enterprise 2003 R2 SP2), and rebooted them both. It
didn't seem to make any difference, so I again deleted and then
recreated the replication group. It still is not working properly.
Is there anything else I should check on?
Thanks,
Trevor
