Hi,
We have 2 servers replicating 4 DFS Namespaces. For redundancy I would like
to replicate to a 3rd server which is also running Server 2003 R2. I was
successful adding the 1st Namespace but when trying to add the others I
receive the following warning...
"A shared folder named "HQ" already exists on the server "Server1". If the
existing shared folder is used, the security settings specified within the
Edit Settings dialog box will not apply. To have a shared folder created
with those settings, you must remove the existing shared folder."
"Do you want to use the existing shared folder and its current security
settings?"
If I select Yes, there is an error when Committing changes.
"The namespace server \\Server1\HQ cannot be added. The server already hosts
a namespace."
If I select No, there is an error when Validating the shared folder.
I did remove the existing shared folder but it gets re-created when
attempting to add the Namespace server and the same error remains.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you!
