I have just set up a replication group to replicate a home folder from a W2003
R2 server to a new W2008 server. Everything seems OK and the Diagnostic reports
no backlogged files. However when I look at the folder properties the original
folder has 20000 files using 4.3 GB and the replicated copy has only 11000 files
using 2.3 GB. I know temporaries etc are not replicated but I am very surprised
by the size of this difference. I have deleted ~* and *.TMP from the original
and only a few files were removed (20 to 30). The home folders have "My
Documents" redirected to them using a GPO.

Is the some way I can verify that the copy is OK. What could account for the
large difference. Are "Temporary Internet Files" excluded from the replication.

Is there a way to delete all the file that have the "temp" flag set.

I would go into the properties of the replicated foldern (in the DFS
Management console) and delete all the filters.

Ah! that's a good idea. If I copy the master content on Server A to a different
folder and set up a new replication group for the copy without any filters I
will be able to see if it is the filters that are doing this. I can then simply
remove the test group confident that DFSR is doing a good job. I have tried
using Windiff but so far have not found any missing files.

I will probably leave this until after next weeks skiing trip though.
