Hi,
I'm having an issue with using a namespace that I have recently created, all
servers are running Windows 2003 SR2 Standard (SP2), and have all the DFSR
hotfixes applied.
I have 3 web servers configured with DFSR which has been work correctly for
a few months, and have 2 domain controllers which are now configured as DFS
namespace servers, I have created a namespace which points to this replicated
data.
My problem is that certain servers are unable to access the DFSR share and
return the error message below when you attempt to connect to that share:
\\server.domain.local\Share is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. contact the administrator of this
sevrer to find out if you have access permissions.
However If I do this again from another server it works fine. If I browse
to the dFSR share and go to the properties, DFS tab, and click on the Check
Status button, I see that every web server returns Active status of NO, apart
from the locally connected server. However doing this again from one of the
domain controllers (using same credentials) they return YES for the status.
Every webserver has the same share permissions for the replicated data, and
the name space servers have the same share permisssions.
There are no errors/warnings in the event log on any of the sevrersit isn't
a share issue as you can access the replicated data occassionally via the
namespace.
Can someone shed some light on what is happening here?
